This aluminum plate closes off the big hole in tunnel. This tunnel closer kit eliminates snow from accumulating under the seat and exhaust area which melts and accumulates on the inside and outside of tunnel and foot boards only to freeze up again. This creates four problems: weight gain, slippery floorboards, snow covered rider and track interference. This can lead to track failure. Keep the snow under the tunnel where it belongs. We would like to clear up the myth about the exhaust needing to be cooled by the big hole. This is not true. Does your ATV or dirt bike have a problem in 90 plus degree weather? Yamaha has all the heat shields in place to combat this problem. The side shields that they sell are a band aid and don't fix the problem.
